CRE News: What We’re Reading the Week of June 6th

Each week, The Elevator Speech will summarize a list of important news stories impacting our industry and the City of Chicago.  So, what headlines and news caught our attention this week?

  • The Leo Burnett Building at 35 W. Wacker Drive

    Local construction contracts for new commercial and residential building projects in the Chicago region totaled $1.45 billion, an increase of 14 percent compared with the same period last year.

  • The Water Tower Place’s food court will receive its biggest-ever expansion to feature a wine bar, sushi bar, chocolate room and an M Burger sandwich shop.

  •  The 1.1-million-square-foot Leo Burnett Building at 35 W. Wacker Drive is under contract to be sold for about $400 million to UBS A.G.
  • Jones Lang LaSalle closed a sale for 13.5 acres on the South Side of Chicago for a new Wal-Mart.
